Complete Guide to Taipei Children’s Amusement Park 2025 | Best Budget-Friendly Family Fun in Taiwan

If you’re hunting for an amazing value amusement park, don’t sleep on Taipei Children’s Amusement Park! Located right in downtown Taipei, this place is ridiculously affordable, it is unbelievably cheap prices here! While other theme parks charge NT$1000+ for admission, Children’s Amusement Park only costs NT$30 to get in (individual rides are pay-per-play at NT$20-30 each). That NT$30 won’t even buy you a drink in Taipei! If you want unlimited rides for the day, it’s just NT$200! Perfect if you only want to hit a few rides, and don’t worry about cheap meaning low quality, the safety standards and ride quality here are just as good as anywhere else.

Another huge plus is the super convenient location, you can literally take the MRT and be there. Compared to places like Leofoo Village or Window on World Theme Park that take over an hour to reach, you’re saving tons of travel time. Plus, Children’s Amusement Park isn’t big, so you can easily do everything in about 4 hours without needing to dedicate an entire exhausting day at a theme park. It’s perfect for half-day trips or afternoon activities. If you want to stick around longer, there’s the Taipei Astronomical Museum, Shilin Official Residence, and Shilin Night Market nearby, so you can totally string together a full day itinerary.

The big question everyone asks is: what age range is this good for? The age coverage is incredibly broad! 3-year-olds can enjoy the carousel and little train, 6-8 year olds can tackle bumper cars and the flying elephants, while 9-12 year old “big kids” can try the drop tower and roller coaster. Most importantly, from nursing rooms to family restrooms, stroller rentals to accessibility features, the park considers every family’s needs so parents with little ones can enjoy stress-free outings. Getting to Children’s Amusement Park by Public Transport

MRT Options:

Jiantan Station Route (Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐) Exit 3 from Jiantan Station, then catch bus 41, Red 30, 529, or the dedicated “Children’s Amusement Park Line 2”. These buses run frequently (every 5-10 minutes) and take about 10 minutes to get there.

Shilin Station Route (Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐) From Shilin Station Exit 1, take shuttle bus 255, Red 30, or “Children’s Amusement Park Line 1”. Note that “Line 1” only runs on weekends – it’s suspended on weekdays.

Zhishan Station Route (Rating: ⭐⭐⭐) From Zhishan Station Exit 1, you can catch “Children’s Amusement Park Line 1”, but again, weekend-only service, so not recommended for weekday visitors.

Important Transport Notes:

  • Shuttle buses “Line 1” and “Line 2” only run during park operating hours
  • Bus 529 doesn’t run on weekends and holidays
  • Shuttle bus 255 is weekends/holidays only
  • Some services are seasonal, so double-check schedules!

YouBike:

For cyclists, YouBike is a great option! There are rental stations at Jiantan Station Exit 2 and Shilin Station Exit 2. Ride to “Taipei Planetarium YouBike Station” and it’s just a 200-meter walk to the park.

If you don’t bike, you can walk the same routes – just more tiring. About 2km from Jiantan Station Exit 1 along Jihe Road, or 1.5km from Shilin Station Exit 1 via Zhongzheng Road to Jihe Road.

Ticket Pricing Guide: How to Buy Smart

Park admission is just NT$30 which is seriously budget-friendly! Once you’re inside, most individual rides cost NT$20-30 each, so if you’re only planning to try a few attractions, paying per ride works out great. You can buy single-ride tickets at the counter, but I recommend just tapping your EasyCard at each ride which is super convenient.

Using EasyCard: You can tap in at the entrance (no waiting in ticket lines!) and pay for rides directly. Besides EasyCard, they also accept iPass, VISA, Mastercard, and JCB, but I strongly recommend EasyCard since there are top-up machines throughout the park, plus you’ll need it for MRT and YouBike anyway. Most tourists get one regardless. You can top up at convenience stores and MRT stations so you don’t have to wait in lines at the park. If you don’t have an EasyCard, you can rent one at the ticket booth, they’ll refund the remaining balance when you return it with no service fees.

All-Day Pass: You can also buy an unlimited day pass that includes park admission. However, the day pass doesn’t cover K-series attractions, it only cover 13 standard rides (NT$20-30 range). For K-series rides, you still tap your EasyCard at the ride entrance. If your kid is the type who likes to ride the same thing over and over (like me! I am super into bumper cars, I can easily do 5-6 rounds!), the day pass is definitely worth it.

Combo Tickets: Consider the combo ticket with the nearby Taipei Astronomical Museum (literally a 1-minute walk away) if you’re planning to visit both, the combo ticket is a great deal.

Complete Ride Guide: 13 Attractions That’ll Keep You Entertained All Day

Although the ticket prices vary by ride, they generally fall within the following range:

  • Standard Rides (NT$20-30 per ride): Carousel, little train, bumper cars, ferris wheel, flying elephants, etc. These are gentler rides suitable for all ages.
  • K-Series (NT$30-50 per ride): Big Pirate Ship, Little Bumper Cars and water playground that is only available at summer.
  • A-Series (NT$50-80 per ride): More thrilling attractions with higher prices but more exciting experiences, including bumper boats, robot driving, and go-karts.

Standard Rides feature classics like the marine-themed Ocean Carousel with dolphins and seahorses, plus the landmark 40-meter Ferris Wheel offering nice views of the Taipei City. Other favorites include Bumper Cars, Magic Star Trek Roller Coaster, Pirate Ship Swing, and Drop Tower, with tickets ranging NT$20–30 per ride.

K-Series Attractions provide immersive family experiences, including the Snow Ship’s polar expedition simulation (NT$30), Little Bumper Cars with robot-shaped battle vehicles (NT$30), and the seasonal Aqua Planet water playground featuring sprinklers and tipping buckets for 50-minute sessions (NT$50, max 100 participants).

A-Series Attractions focus on interactive, hands-on adventures. Kids can learn traffic rules at the Driving School (NT$80 for 8–10 minutes), pilot battle vehicles in Mech Fury’s 3-minute showdowns (NT$80), steer ships in Mini Nautical Captain (NT$50), or race friends at the outdoor Go-Kart track (NT$80).

Besides rides that 3-year-olds can enjoy like the carousel, ferris wheel, and little train, most attractions require a minimum height of 90cm, with some thrilling rides requiring 110cm+. Don’t worry though, every ride entrance clearly displays the requirements.

1st Floor Shopping Area: Besides regular souvenir shops, there’s an escape room and smart unmanned convenience store, but fewer food options. Food Time offers light meals and drinks, perfect for quick snacks.

2nd Floor Food Court is the main dining area! Cuei Cha serves various tea drinks, Italy Fresh has decent Italian pasta, and Yu Loong offers diverse noodle dishes. Highly recommend Hong Wu Omelet, their omelet rice is not only Instagram-worthy but tastes amazing, super popular with kids. There is also korean restaurant serves authentic korean food too. For quick bites, drinks, or daily essentials, a 7-Eleven is conveniently available as well.

3rd Floor Food Court has Burger King and Turkish ice cream.

Bring Your Own Food: The park allows outside food and drinks! This is super thoughtful for families with special dietary needs or those wanting to save money. There are plenty of open seating areas and covered pavilions perfect for picnic time.
